Vera Louise Magee, 95, died peacefully at home in Plant City, FL on July 21, 2023.
Vera Louise Magee was born on December 20th, 1927 in Plant City, FL to Willie and Mary Candis. She had six siblings.
Vera Louise worked as a nurse doing what she did best, helping others. Later she worked as a narcotics corrections officer in New York.
She obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. She worked as a school teacher until her retirement in 1990. Not one to just sit out in retirement, she returned to her favorite profession as a daycare teacher and taught part time for many years doing what she loved - teaching and guiding young minds.
Oh, how she loved young people! Oh, how she loved the Lord!
She is survived by her 90 year old younger sister, Anne Dudley, of California. She leaves to cherish her memory sons Johnnie Candis and Robert Candis, and daughter Marilynn Candis, her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren along with a host of sorrowing friends and relatives.
Vera Louise will be remembered for her fiery spirit which was personified with her infamous rhymes which included:
“I’m too blessed to be stressed with other people’s mess”
“I am 95 and still alive,” serving as a joyous triumph to the wonderful life she had lived!
Her ubiquitous influence was felt by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her comedic wit as well as her kind heart.
